This pathway draws upon the curricular offerings at the School of Law in areas related to space law, as well as the national reputation of the University of North Dakota’s Space Studies program, the first interdisciplinary space education program in the world, in the School of Aerospace Sciences.

Research and Other Opportunities

  • Faculty in the Space Studies Department conduct research in numerous areas, including working on space suit technology with NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Law students have participated, along with graduate students in Space Studies, in the international Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court competition.

* The School of Law’s General Academic Requirements and Regulations provide: “11. Credit for Courses Outside the Law School. Unless otherwise provided in the requirements of a joint degree program, students may take up to six credits of undergraduate or graduate courses in other departments or colleges of the University of North Dakota, with the approval of the Dean. The student’s petition must indicate how the requested course(s) will contribute to the student’s professional education.”
